The Tahiti Nui Dancers were founded in 1970 by Pat Pechey in Cupertino, Ca. A member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, Pat’s faith and commitment to Polynesian culture made the Tahiti Nui Dancers an honorable business. Pat Pechey moved to Clearlake, CA in 2006 leaving her company to dancer Pomai Neil. Pomai studies hula under her Auntie Kapua Hollands.Pomai studied Ori Tahitian under Otea Api of Fremont, CA.

Kapua Hollands is the daughter of famous steel guitar musician, Duke Kaleolani Ching and hula dancer Wahine Ali’I Ching. Throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s the Ching family entertained audiences all over the world. Kapua Hollands has studied Hawaiian language for over 10 years and has passed on her family’s entertainment legacy for over 20 years. Currently she is chair of education for Southern California’s Native Hawaiian organization Na Mamo. Duke Kaleolani Ching entertains all over Los Angeles County. He has appeared in movies and television such as 50 First dates and The Home Show. Duke has performed alongside legendary artists Don Ho and the late Genoa Keawe.
